Issue Zero comprises four pieces by Triangular Prism’s creator and editor, Miguel Abrantes. Its purpose is to launch the site, providing an idea of TP’s type of content even while the call for submissions for Issue #1 is running.

“Waking Life and Death”, about Richard Linklater’s Waking Life, gives consideration to the Philip K. Dick novel mentioned in one scene and, with the help of Laurie Anderson’s Heart of a Dog, advances a greater meaning for the picture.

“Paulette”, about Martin Scorsese’s Life Lessons, explores the importance of that character in the film, and of her rejection of a selfish trajectory.

“Two Differentnesses”, about Lawrence Kasdan’s Grand Canyon, posits Kasdan’s prior The Accidental Tourist as prefiguring the directorial vision displayed in the later work.

4.

“The Rewarding All Is Lost, about J. C. Chandor’s All Is Lost, looks at the film’s singular stylistic aspects as a product of the spiritual essence of its narrative.
